Katahdin Sheep
I began raising Katahdin sheep about 10 years
ago. My original ewes were purchased from Mary
Van Anrooy. of Clinton, Arkansas. I have recently
purchased 2 rams from Mark Dennis of Country
Oak Ranch in New Iberia, Louisiana. I plan on
having some of their offspring available for sale in
the future. My breeding program goals are large
framed lambs with rapid weight gains, good coats,
and black hooves for low foot maintenance.
Katahdin Sheep
Katahdin are hardy,
adaptable, low
maintenance sheep that
produce superior lamb
crops and lean, meaty
carcasses. They do not
produce a fleece and
therefore do not require
shearing. They are
medium-sized and
efficient, bred for utility
and for production in a
variety of management
systems. Ewes have
exceptional mothering
ability and lamb easily;
lambs are born vigorous
and alert. The breed is
ideal for pasture lambing
and grass/foragebased
management systems
Occasional pups, started and finished dogs for sale.

Pictured top right is his grandsire MCD New-Generation. This
young ram will be used in 2011 on select ewes. I should have
a limited number of his offspring for sale in early 2012. This is
a great young ram and should produce excellent herd sires
and replacement ewes for your herd.
